According to a story in YOUR DOVER the local TV news programme BBC South East are axing their well known presenters Geoff Clark and Beverley Thompson. Its not altogether clear why they are doing it...the statement from the BBC is dressed up in the usual baloney with phrases like..."the audience tell us they want a more journalistic approach etc etc" and more spin along those lines.

This of course is utter cobblers...the reason they are being axed is because of their age. They are being replaced by the attractive fresh faced couple Polly Evans and Rob Smith. Proving once again that once you hit 50 your life in TV is over...ermm if it lasts that long in the first place. What we cant have are tired looking world weary presenters who may have acquired some knowledge over the years! Heavens No!..No...its all about image these days and no mistake.

But what the audience wants most of all are stories directly related to their local area...of this there is no doubt. Spreading the net too far will see a fall off in audience levels and replacing presenters wont stem that fall off.
