  this weekend 5/6th march there will be the first replica spitfire ever built on show in nearby capel-le ferne.
  
  this is to commemorate the inaugural flight made by captain summers on the 5th march 1936, 75 years ago to the day.
  
  admission to the site is free, there are likely to be helicopter rides available over the weekend, no idea what they will charge for this.

  Keep an eye on the skies around Dover too - Go Action Stations is running the helicopter flight around the area flying with the spitfire on both Saturday and Sunday (from Wallets Court again I believe)

  That should be possible Paul. Control Line flying. All it needs is a length of very strong string tied to one wing and quite a few (very strong) blokes to hang on to the other end.

  The Spitfire was flying over Dover Harbour yesterday afternoon accompanied by two helicopters - great from the Yacht Club Terrace during their Beer Festival.

  Don't think soi the one in Southampton was the Grace Spitfire (with the only female spitfore pilot) and ours was piloted by Charlie Brown

  Despite the cold and damp it was very good to see so many braving the elements over the two days to view this awesome machine, here's a pic of myself waiting to taxi the beauty off into the blue yonder.
  
  Many a damp eye up there from folks who lived through the hellfire (not all caused by the weather either).
