  Yes she is in fact the Chairman of the Conservative Party as I understand it and often speaks for them on TV on such shows as Question Time and so on. Very much a straight talker and not everyones cuppa tay. This story would have made more headlines but it was drowned out by the huge stories last week..Alan Johnson, Tony Blair and Andy Coulson in that order. As one newspaper said the other day...a day is a long time in politics! and it was one heck of a 24 hours from late afternoon thursday.
  
  The Baroness highlighted her speech to the media beforehand wanting to draw attention to the plight of muslims...in other words drawing attention to the notion that it seems to have become the acepted norm to be prejudiced againts them.
  
  She is I think Im remembering right the first muslim woman to high fly in British politics so she is using her high office to draw attention to the raw deal muslims seem to get.
  
  But do they...as someone said the other day on TV, when a Muslim gets on the tubetrain next to you carrying a rucksack or a holdall, you and the other immediate people get nervous and move away. When the day dawns that people are not walking around London and everywhere else with such fears then it will be a step in the right direction..a first brick in the wall. That needs to be addressed first. Muslims have done themselves this social harm. Obviously we would all like a better world where everyone gets along so hopefully Muslims can integrate better and play a bigger role. I think everyone would welcome that. Some bridge building needed. All the bombers were born here, so what went wrong!
