Nat West in Sandwich is shutting later this year. It's only recently reduced to opening Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

Sandwich folk must be mainly banking online as HSBC closed their branch earlier this year.

Iv had a few issues where it would have been nice for the local branch manager to sort but just got passed on to head office, and it was such a simple prob to solve
its also time consuming going through head office

Joking apart, with the ridiculous rise in property prices, many of us now have a portfolio worth more than £5 million and even if not most people can raise the £500,000 necessary to open a Coutts bank account.
Their office is close to Charing Cross station when in town and their debit card works at all other banks.
Contrary to popular belief they are not at all 'snobbish' and I've found they provide an excellent service.
Well worth looking in to IMHO.

In spite of the Captains opening words I can only guess the rest of his post is actually a joke. "most people can raise the £500,000 ". I wish I could and I am quite comfortable in my old age.

Sent not to me but to unknown previous resident (long unused account, I guess); I haven't yet been officially informed. But it's prompted me to remember I have 2 accounts there...
...which I'll be closing soon.
Lmao at the disingenuity of '
how people choose to do their banking has been changing for some time...' As if this were ever driven by 'people' and not government and central banks.
Still, more cash for my mattress.

I got fed up with trying to use Halifax in Dover over the past months- it was always closed or had very limited opening times. Started using the Deal branch, I complained that the Dover branch was never open and they said it was due to staff illness but also stated that it wasn’t going to be closing!
I’ll continue to use Deal or Canterbury.

Yes you are right sir, there was to much banking going on in the Dover branch, a branch they wanted to close a long time ago ,I do not know why, I had banked there over 30 years and got so fed up with how they run the branch that I moved over the road I was all ready using the NW anyway and by moving the little cash I had they give me £125 for doing it never looked back ,my wife has a small amount with the HALIFAX but she is on the move next week.

Degrade service > usage drops > close service.
Business pattern disguises policy as consumer choice.

Thing is most banks and building societies staff have become just clerks with no power to actually run the branch .
In fact they encourage to use the on line facility
Then close branch's
