    Anyway, Barry, the director of Lloyds Bank has just announced he is turning down his 2011 bonus, which would have been 225% of his annual wage, therefore £2.4 million.

    It seems he wants this to be an example. If the director does it, it would be unseemly for those lower down not to follow his example.

    Now everyone is waiting to see if all the other bankers at Lloyds will also voluntarily refuse a bonus.

    It goes to show that the massive public pressure has an effect, so hopefully, before long, these bankers' bonuses will be a thing of the past.
