Four days of parties will mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee next year, it was announced yesterday.

The Government has moved the late May bank holiday to June 4 and made Tuesday June 5 an additional day off. And details of the 60th anniversary celebrations have been revealed by Buckingham Palace - starting with the Queen visiting the Epsom Derby on Saturday, June 2.

The next day, a flotilla of 1,000 boats will sail the Thames with the Queen at its head as fireworks light up the river.

On the Monday, the Palace will host a televised outdoor concert by the best of UK and Commonwealth musicians. And the extra-long weekend will climax with a spectacular carriage procession and service at St Paul's Cathedral.

What with the Olympics.. next year looks a bumper year for UK tourism
