    Completion of the Pier A extension will mean that all the berths in Dover will be able to accept the largest ferries in service today and into the distant future. The Spirit of France has carried out berthing trials on a selection of berths and the photos below show her laid up on the Eastern Arm. She can presently be differentiated from her sister ship the Spirit of Britain by the extended exhausts on top of the squidgy funnel although the latter will be going back to Finland to receive the same modifications.
