Never seen the programme myself but I understand it's very popular. People seem distraught that Channel 4 have outbid the BBC for the next series but it is just moving from one free to air channel to another so I don't understand how that is a problem.

Having never watched it, and being of the opinion that TV chefs are a waste of oxygen, I reckon if they payed more than a couple of quid for it they were ripped off. (please feel free to talk about advertising revenue it will bring in for the new channel as if I hadn't thought of it)

Sheer greed.

Unfortunately Mel and Sue have already jumped ship, unbelievably people are so grieved by the move that they are going to stop watching it.
No wonder the country is in the state it's in!

I have only seen a couple of shows but I think if I was a regular viewer the adverts on 4 would annoy me.

The format of Bake Off. Three rounds of challenges lends itself well to ad breaks so I don't think that will be too damaging to the show. Mary Berry would be difficult to replace if she decided not to follow the show to C4.
