I have just had my guttering cleaned out .My neighbour had noticed grass growing out of the guttering on her side of the house .I thought it was a Coronation St joke as sure enough grass was growing .Being on the short side I had not noticed .
Well a nice friendly Guy has just cleaned out the guttering to both houses
I was amazed at the moss that fell out .
Oh dear owning your own property does have drawbacks .I had not thought to get the guttering checked .Our Vic was good enough to take down the ivy which was invading another neighbours property .

Out of sight, out of mind Sue. If you have trees fairly close to the house it is often worth checking the guttering every year as it doesn't take long to accumulate leaves and stuff which then provide a good growing medium for wind-blown seeds.

Our neighbours have a huge lump of grass growing in their gutter. It's just where the birds nest inside the roof. It's surprising how much stuff gets in a gutter; it's not always easy either to sort out when it's a house as opposed to a bungalow. Fortunately there is a very nice chap just up the road who came to help me with things like that - I am FAR too scared to go up a ladder that high. Even standing on the kitchen stool is enough for me!

Maggie You should never stand on a kitchen stool or any stool or chair we know they will tip over and that can be very painfull.

always best to have the guttering cleared once a year, i get a lot of moss that sticks to the roof tiles, then gets washed down to the guttering and into the drain.
can cause bigger problems later on if ignored.

Sorry Vic, but I`m not very knowledgeable on camera`s and photography. I don`t think the film will be up to much though. I shoot first, ask questions later.

Ok thanks anyway.I will wait and do what you said and see what comes out.

Howard you are right about that one to.cleaning a down pipe out is no fun if you are high up.somtimes you even have to take them down to do it,keep them all clean save you in the long run.
