  First things first.
  
  They have a new Chairman ,George Jenkins , who knows Ports, having a been a director at Medway Ports. He also has a track record of dealing with difficult public sector bodies, East Kent Hospitals, Maidstone Hospital & certain London groupings. He knows how to deal with Ministers!!
  
  Next there is at least one Board vacancy to fill now Roger Mountford has gone, maybe more depending on lengths of appointments; so changes at Board level.
  
  Would suggest this becomes first priority before any new direction is identified.
