Pasted from my representation:
"The following is an indication as to how much could be levied in a port-service toll for the public revenue: a car £5; a heavy goods vehicle £50; a van £10; a bus £1 for each passenger."
Also pasted from my representation:
"This public revenue would be applied in equal measure to all British commercial ports, including therefore the Channel Tunnel in neighbouring Shepway, and would constitute a fundamental basis to the financing of the budgets of Local Government administrations (councils) on whose territory a commercial port is situated, while assuring a reasonable share to the State Treasury."
Hopefully this clarifies any idea of going through the Chanel Tunnel, Paul and peter.
