    It's not surprising the vote went the way it did when those advocating it where using the sort of jingoistic language - "forever England", "selling the White Cliffs", "foreign ownership" etc. etc. - that meant the issues that should have been debated properly were lost in the fog. The reality is that a significant opportunity to secure much need private investment in the port has now been lost.
