I saw the department of misery and health's latest offering to the population last night warning of the "dangers" of drinking paltry amounts of alcohol.
It's not the message I have a particular grape, sorry gripe, with but the way they put forward their ideas.
Aaaaye naice soft sporken noerthern voiceovers proberbely Blackberrrrn or in that area. Cartoon figures and moving beer and wine glasses giggling to one another, a scene that would have ended up on the cutting room floor in the editing suite of the Teletubbies. We are warned amongst other things that this type of behaviour MIGHT lead to mouth cancer and it advises our two protagonists to drink tea. However it fails to warn of the dangers of oral cancer caused by drinking tea which is too hot.
The public information film finishes off with some faux cockney with the catchphrase "Chainge fer loif naeow why doncha gor blimey guvnor".
Nearly every advert on the telly consists of cartoons and men and women putting on silly voices. Rather disturbing isn't it?
Anyways here's the film:
