No, I have not had enough - it is like the MPs expenses scandal. People are already forgetting, and that is a bad thing. To forget increases the risk of it happening again. Like an infection, it will probably be worse next time because those involved believe they are impregnable.

Agree.........several people are hoping boredom of the subject will protect them,it must run its course.
Project `Weeting`is being turned into `Operation TULETA`...the hacking of emails.
The whisper is `Tuleta` will be more revealing than` Weeting`......watch this space.

of course the issue must be pursued but the public have had more than enough and are suffering from "indignation" fatigue.
the enquiry seems to get less coverage as each witness contradicts the last one.
the last time i watched it was when our local hero was giving evidence, entertainment of the highest quality.
There must be a degree of management about it so that people do not lose interest - rather than swamping the telly with it, perhaps some TV news updates would be more refreshing? But it will depend to whose agenda the TV is working.......

The Met`s cosy relationship with the media has been heavily criticised in the `Filkin report`Excessive hospitality, meetings with alcohol, secret meetings, extended lunches with the extra bottle of wine had damaged trust in the impartiality of the police.....there`s no such thing as a free lunch...........
One assistant commissioner told Filkin the perception of the lower ranks was ``that the Bosses were filling their boots``
Anyone found to have improperly shared information will be subject to misconduct and or criminal proceedings,we need to be open and transparent about our dealings.Trust internally has been damaged.
Could this conflict with police membership of a `closed society` ?

There has to be some sense about it as well, though! We don't want senior cops ligging all over the place, but at the same time there has been a significant amount of positive outcomes from a bit of information sharing. The challenge is to find that balance. As always!

Yes Keith, I don't belong to that one either. And I don't suppose you were ever a member of Militant Tendency either.

i think the term "militant tendency" has a certain irony to it, i reckon the originators had tongue firmly in cheek when they came out with it.

as a matter of interest i fought the MILITANT party in my early days in the labour party 25 years ago.
apart from the militant party infiltrating the labour party at that time
the we had tory members joining labour to in a move to disrupt the party

Interesting, Keith. I wonder what archaeologists will make of 20th-century party politics in the year 3000.

I think politicians at every level have a wake up call
the electorate is switched off of politics, and politicians need to re engage with the electorate if they truely want people involvement and support.
