What a lovely little good news story, that will be a tale to tell when she gets older born on a Ferry crossing the English Channel.

even more interesting jan, just recieved a message that in theory the baby will be entitled to free travel on that particular ferry for the rest of her life.

ahah a dubious connection here, depending what ferry it is and the plans for it by the ferry company.it might be razor blades by the time she is old enough to travel by herself.
i have named her channel no.5.

I wonder if she will be able to have dual nationality, born in French waters and on a UK ship.

Perhaps having a baby on a ferry will become the best option for Dover births?!

what a surprise mark, we saw all the huffing and puffing from politicos but the decision was made yonks ago.
i loved all the reasons given and the phoney consultations, we all know the truth about it being a cost cutting exercise.
the next thing we will be told is that due to public demand the proposed new pie in the sky dover hospital will not happen and a wonderful new state of the art facility will be added to the william harvey.

howard,consultations are a con,its in the wording.the first 3 letters.

Consultations, like stats, can provide many different outcomes depending on who is managing them. The reasons given are, of course, b0****ks. The outcome will be based on the factors entered into the mix, and I can only assume that the factors of local knowledge, traffic congestion, and the increasing cost of travel were not used.

This was a forgone conclusion but still not right.
I cant help wondering how many of the medical staff live in the Ashford area and would prefer not to travel.
