Some of the foreign hgvs have totally rubbish and dangerous driving standards, they really couldnt give a ****. Many drive purely by what the sat nav says and some use sat navs which are only suitable for cars only so its no wonder that this sort of thing happens regularly.
I do feel sorry for any one living a Aycliffe I have been told about the amount of lorrys that take the wrong turning and end up at a dead end and it happens most at nights,we get some of it to at River not so much but even where I live which ends up in a car park for the big home we have for the older ones .
And I have to go out there the driver does not talk any English .What I do now is get the staff of the home to move their cars out of the way because one night a HGV hit 3 cars trying to turn round ,it takes about two hours to get them out of the close again.
If you were asleep you would not need to go out and sort out the one or maybe two Lorries which have ended up in the close .Most of us residents did not hear anything.Mind you the sight of me in my nightie might deter them .
