Interesting comments above from PaulB, but the only thing I would mention on a personal basis is that I never seek to convert anybody to becoming an athiest, and it`s only since these current thread`s on here that I`ve realised how many there are. I get angry at these new religious group`s springing up in the State`s, and as I`ve said before, any politician who says he`s an atheist is committing poltitical suicide,and that is wrong. Individuals are getting very rich quick from gullible follower`s. On this side of the water, my dislike for the way the Vatican has behaved over recent centuries and in modern times,(regarding the other thread), hasn`t endeared them to me, though again, they have changed alot now. My sole interest in life is to get out there and start colonising our planetary system. There are different world`s up there with alien landscapes that would surely put alot of what we`ve got down here in the shade. I don`t like these religious thought`s that someone is up there to look over us and protect us from some stray rock causing a catastrophic event, and millions or billion`s perishing. It can happen, it will happen, it`s happened times before, it could be next week or a million years, but it will happen. The trouble is, a gullible, uneducated, God fearing public, are always going to believe that some entity up there won`t let it happen. What an insurance risk that is! And, spending large amount`s of money on space projects, just doesn`t win vote`s I`ve read.
