This should please the genteel residents of Whitstable, I wonder how many are actually 18?

No idea Howard, but they should not be allowed to stay here if they got here illegally - on the top, inside or under a lorry, they should be sent straight back to France.
They must be told that they will NEVER settle in the U.K. if they come here illegally; by this silly "let-em-in" approach, it will always encourage the others across the channel to try to get here, by the same means.

Unless their case is genuine (which with the majority I doubt) they should be flown to their country of origin which I am sure would be cheaper than keeping them here.

to me they should be sent back to their country of origin, if they were genuinely fleeing from persecution their first point of safety should surfice, to travel across endless borders with one place in mind, to get over here I would call it an invasion, the sooner Britian get away from being a soft touch the better

The problem is that most if not all destroy their documents for that very reason, and nobody really know where each individual comes from.

Totally agree with Jan and Sheila. If they have no documents then send them to the nearest safe country from their area. This situation is way out of control. Even the migrants who are genuinely scared for their lives should not have travelled to the UK. As things are they are living here and having children here which means that unless something is done they will outnumber UK citizens eventually.
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

It seems that residents nearby have nothing to fear. Considering this comes from someone who has never met them that is quite a statement. Hopefully we won't get a repeat of the Folkestone fiasco when they housed people from different tribes in the same street.

I wonder if the inhabitants of the area feel the same.
An influx of 40 teenagers never mind their nationality must have a profound affect on the area, coming from a completely different culture these youngsters will only add to any potential problems.

I'm going over on Thursday for the annual Grotter building on Whitstable beach - if any of the asylum seekers are there already and spot this they might be wondering what sort of country they've come to and be asking for immediate repatriation
