    Not surprised for the reasons Barry W cites.

    Now let's move on, this is a real blow to the long term regeneration of the town, but one with the right leadership the town can bounce back and grow from. Sadly I have little faith in the current leadership up at Whitfield both in terms of the councillors and senior officers who have presided over the recent version of this long running tragedy.

    Perhaps what the DTIZ needs is a redesign on a more people friendly basis. Keep the hotel, but redesign the rest of it based round smaller shop units, housing etc.
