It's good to see Asda in Dover - be interesting to see how things go being so close to Morrisons.

Members of my family visited ASDA and said they had only 2 tills, and people not willing to wait, many walking out disgusted.
most people unwilling to wait around.
so they need to get that right if they want to gain a market.
many people have said they should have added there populart george section
and with that would have been a good shop, without it probably wont help there sales.
Unless asda has plans to push out farm foods etc cant see them having much luck so close to morrisons

Love them or hate them if you are going to have a ASDA then it should be one with the full range of their products including George.

How many more cheapo clothes shops can Dover stand!? I can live without George, frankly. If the rest of the facilities are ok that's good with me.

i made the mistake of buying a pair of jeans from george at asda, at 10 quid how could i go wrong?
sadly i did, washed them once and threw them away.
Agreed - poorly cut and cheap cloth. We can live without it!

Not ventured into the new store, but I think the big problem here will be the car park. In my opinion, all supermarket car parks are dangerous, but this one is a disaster waiting to happen. Clearly not very well designed, and used as a thoroughfare by pedestrians.

a few mentions of george being absent from asda and the range of goods, my understanding is that asda are trying to break into the "tesco express" market which they have lagged behind in.
the range will be limited so people should get in and out quicker than they would at morrisons.

Depends how much you buy Howard.
This Asda was always designed as an express style of shop, one lady went in yesterday and came out with nothing saying they were no cheaper than Morrisons so she would stay shopping with Morrisons. I have not been in there yet so have no opinion on the matter.
