When I walked by the weekend before last, it looked like nothing had happened.

As you can see from my picture this afternoon nothing has happened.
I did bump into Cllr Sue Jones last week but entirely forgot to ask her about it, sorry!

Terry, looking at your picture it looks like they have taken down that fence which runs along the side of Morrisons.
I just hope it stays down so us pedestrians can pass each other more easily.

Yes Jan, both the fence and the sprung gate have gone. On Friday the orange plastic fence was all over the place due I suppose to the weather.

More likely from people trying to pass each other on that narrow path or the local idiots.

The fence might actually be the art installation (whatever that actually means) showing the decline of europe into chaos since the brexit vote. More likely its the local idiots...

I thought all the empty drink cans and other rubbish thrown in there might be considered art. Why has the grass been laid in patches and stop in straight lines rather than being cut to go around the natural shapes and contours of the trees. I most certainly hope the bin is replaced . Sadly I do not think it will develop well. The little patch is very shaded and surely all the edges will get trodden down. Such a shame as I rather hoped it would turn into a visually pleasing area for those drinking a cup of tea in Morrisons whilst pondering their next move. Must be rather disheartening too for those who give their time voluntarily to try and do something with a rather uninspiring patch of land.

That is why the anticipation of artful improvement is so eagerly awaited Andy B.

Morrisons should have included it in their original plans.Cafe opening up on to a nice garden area.

Health and safety, no doubt, would have stepped in and I simply don't enjoy a cup of tea out of a cardboard container. One only has to look at the state of the McDonald's outside area. It's rather messy, youths place their feet on the tables, everybody puffing away on cigarettes or suspicious smelling substances, the language is rather disturbing. Add to that it was and likely will be again, an area where dogs leave unpleasant presents for people to then step in....It comes down to people of all ages and all walks of life taking responsibility for the environment and their behaviour. Having received the most foul abuse from a young girl when I called after her to please not throw rubbish in the river, it dissuaded me, if nobody else, from using common area's to sit and relax. But I will concede, the idea in principle would/could have been very pleasant indeed.
