We do indeed have a very cautious society, very cautious about disturbing a sleeping Muslim giant. Thats why the inciters get arrested, no matter how relatively mild the incitement might be. However if the Muslim community take offence, and they do take offence often, then it puts us all in a bad place.

We have two nations here in England. An official one for the English and the rest of us interlopers, and a quiet sleeping one for Muslims. The Muslim community might live here but generally pursue their own lifestyle and their own agenda. They live within our borders but outside our community. We have already seen a number of these young muslims radicalised, and the potential for a great deal more radicalistaion is there. Very worrying for the authorities, as to have a lethal destructive force within your own borders is not good. And they are lethal and almost unstopable because they are prepared to give up their own lives in the process.

The wars have left the world like a tinterbox and they have fed into this amassed radicalisation. Even today in one of the leading sunday newspapers General Sir David Richards, current Chief of our Defence Staff, has said we cannot defeat Al Qaeda. Now thats another radical position....but look at the mess this attempt to do so has left the world in. Can anyone honestly say we have made it a safer place.
