Today at just after 1pm a man attempted to steal 4 cans of beer from Londis on King Street. The male was chased by a staff member and whilst making off he dropped the beers, a pull along suitcase and most worryingly of all a [U]meat cleaver[/U]. As luck would have it a marked Police car was driving past and stopped to assist. Nobody was injured but the male made off and has not been caught at this point. He is about 5’08” apparently Albanian, he has a long full black beard, dark hair tied in a bun and was wearing light green cargo shorts a dark tracksuit top, white T/shirt and white trainers. One of the local drinkers did say that he is always in the area. Just one to be aware of as if he can carry a weapon once he can do it again.

Glad that nobody was hurt as I use that shop and they are nice people in there.
