On a brilliant sunny day the flag that has adorned the town hall for the past week was ceremonially pulled down to the sound of the Dover Sea Cadets buglers.

In a moving ceremony the flag was presented to Dick Liggit one of Dover's veterans who has presided over Remembrance Sunday, the St George's Day celebrations and other similar events for many years.

In attendance were the Town Mayor of Dover Cllr Sue Jones and the Chairman of Dover District Council Cllr Bernard Butcher.
