  Gary - every time tips are not declared, every time a tradesman offers a discount for cash or one is accepted without that income being declared is tax evasion, the illegal kind. It is not always complex schemes by the rich and these small fiddles amount to a lot of people and a lot of dosh. Not to mention working 'on the black'. It will never be stamped out. The welfare budget is a massive one and there are a lot of people cheating on that too and that is actually more economically damaging. I have never said any of it is anything other than wrong.
  
  I do, however encourage everyone to do all they can and take advantage of every legal method of stopping the taxman from pinching their hard earned dosh.
