  Does anyone know why the tree at the back of the Barnardos store , by the side of the passage way past the old chapel has Toys tied to its branches from time to time ? I have always wondered why

  Interesting Sarah ..dont know why they do that myself but maybe one of the guys will know.
  
  That reminds me of my own past..and I know I have probably mentioned this before..Im repeating myself these days lol, but for several years in London somebody used to tie toys to the handle of my front door on Christmas Eve for my daughter Briony. To this day I never found out who it was, but they did it for quite a few years. It was the most thrilling thing.

  I would guess the Barnardos shop might have a glut of cheaper toys and use them as a way of reducing the stock and advertising at the same time.
  
  When we get a glut we sell them for 10p plus depending on what they are like.

  it dosnt feel like they are from the shop as some of them are tied quite high into the branches of the tree , when they have been up there for a long time they look very creepy

  Sarah it just lasted three or four years until I moved away. But always look back on it with affection as of course I doted on the child...who is now all grown up and will be a doctor before we know it and up to her eyeballs in debt, but thats another story.
  
  Maybe someone can get a picture of the toys in the tree. I can see how it could look a bit creepy.

  Initially I did wonder if it was some sort of memorial for those who lost babies but looking at the photos it seems to be more of an artistic statement?!

  Well done with the picture Terry..our man on the spot. Well it is odd but I guess it has some purpose. Ah no Sarah she doesnt remember about the toys on the door, but I regale her with the story every so often and she listens with wide eyed interest.. lol!
