Anyone recognise this Nazi badge?

  The above badge was given to Natascha by her Uncle who found it concealed in a wall of a water mill he was helping to renovate.
  
  It's quite heavy,shaped like a star and about 2 inches in size.

  Very possibly a Deutsches Kreuz (German Cross), a distinguished military combat award. It was issued in silver and gold classes.

  Depending on the condition, i.e. intact pin on back and damage, it would be worth a low three figure sum. Very nice find indeed.

  Yep, looks like a Swa-sticker, Tom! The pin probably came off while the bearer was checking the water mill, I assume he slipped and fell down the ladder into the water

  The badge has not been cleaned or touched up. It has a pin on the reverse side. It was wrapped in sacking and inside a lath and plaster wall. On closer examination it has 1941 on the laurel reef.

  OK, if you would really like the lowdown on the badge, have a read of this set of dedicated pages on the Wehrmacht Awards website. The links on the left will teach you more than you probably would ever like to know about it! There should be a maker's mark that you can tally with the manufacturer's table in the top link.

  You could always post images in the forum. The people there are very helpful despite the seemingly scary nature of the topic.
  
  German military awards are absolutlely riddled with counterfeits - faking them is major industry, and some are really very good. The fact that it was found in a well absolutely confirms it's authenticity.
