Yes unfortuately or fortunately depending on your point of view, there arent rules for everything, so there are Im sure many areas where the police cannot intervene. The only way, as was suggested, is to arrange for a more visually attractive car to park in the spot, even if you have to buy one yourself. A humble little Morris MInor in green perhaps would be good, you can still get them quite cheap as I understand it, and they are pleasing on the eye even though old. The preferred vehicle of district nurses one time. The only downside is that it would have to be taxed, as its parked on the queens highway kind of thing...but it might be worth it.
And now that your not a cabinet member anymore Sue, think of all those happy hours you can spend cleaning and polishing it. An activity much loved by cul-de-sac dwellers on a sunday morning!
