The entire traffic management strategy in Dover is a horse's arse and needs a rethink from the bottom up. (Pun intended). The distribution of short and long term parking seems highly arbitrary; there are places where on-street parking would be perfectly safe; the one-way systems make people burn fuel unnecessarily and have turned Barton Road, Frith Road, Maison Dieu Rd, Priory St and London Road into race tracks. Taking away the bus stop lay-by opposite the Charlton Centre was totally crass and will result in a pedestrian death in due course. Having Castle St and Russell St as one-way roads just creates congestion. Making port traffic transit what was once the town centre was a decision for which those responsible ought to be cast into outer darkness.

Inconsistent enforcement is a godsend by comparison.
