It was a beautiful sunny day in Deal yesterday, the kind of weather fitting for the arrival of the wonderful Orient Express on platform One. There were lots of people on the platform waiting for her arrival including the Mayor of Deal in fine attire and quite a few very smartly dressed greeters compleat with boater hats, they looked extremely elegant,
We all watched in wonder as she pulled into the station, the doors opened and out from each carriage stepped an array of happy people all dressed in their finery and no doubt looking forward to their stroll around Deal in the glorious sunshine. There were people celebrating all kinds of things, one couple told me they were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and they were married in Deal so hence the trip. Another lady said she was celebrating her 75th Birthday which her son had treated her to, he was travelling with her. Another young couple were celebrating their engagement.
PaulB and I were sorely tempted to climb aboard but alas we had no tickets but who knows maybe one day
