Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
Diagnostic Features:
``Narcissistic`` personality disorder is a condition characterized by an inflated sense of self-importance, need for admiration, extreme self-involvement, and lack of empathy for others. Individuals with this disorder are usually arrogantly self-assured and confident. They expect to be noticed as superior. Many highly successful individuals might be considered narcissistic. However, this disorder is only diagnosed when these behaviors become persistent and very disabling or distressing.
Complications:
Vulnerability in self-esteem makes individuals with this disorder very sensitive to criticism or defeat. Although they may not show it outwardly, criticism may haunt these individuals these individuals and may leave them feeling humiliated, degraded, hollow, and empty. They may react with disdain, rage, or defiant counterattack. Their social life is often impaired due to problems derived from entitlement, the need for admiration, and the relative disregard for the sensitivities of others. Though their excessive ambition and confidence may lead to high achievement; performance may be disrupted due to intolerance of criticism or defeat. Sometimes vocational functioning can be very low, reflecting an unwillingness to take a risk in competitive or other situations in which defeat is possible. Individuals with this disorder have special difficulties adjusting to growing old and losing their former ?superiority?.
remind you of anyone?

#1, yes Reg it reminds me very much of Tony Blair.
I'm an optimist. But I'm an optimist who takes my raincoat - Harold Wilson
The description reminds me of some of the duller Tit for Tat political threads , its like panto season sometimes .

blair had a right to be narcissistic, he swept to power effortlessly and remain there until he chose to go.
brown took over and looked like a fish out of water, flashman was so bad he had to rely on nick in order to oust the hapless gordon.
blair made looking like prime minister very easy while dave ends up apologising to people on a regular basis.
his insults to other countries that he visits or entertains are the stuff of legend.

yes indeed i did start a thread on the geezer above
but no worries.
i think as i said above tony blair who is not my cup of tea made sure he stayed in power and covered all avenues
he wouldnt have got involvced in all the u turns, apologies, etc etc
and he left at a date of his choosing
although as i said above blairs not my cup of tea, cameron could learn a lot from him if he wants to remain in office
ALL POSTS ARE MY OWN PERSONAL VIEWS

Without the Lib/Dems prepared to be the fall guys any more,Cameron`s diplomatic gaffes continue with the Scottish
Referendum.
Alex Salmond and the Scottish people say`` Cameron is a bonus to their cause, they want him to keep talking and
interferring like an etonian sassenach with size 12 boots telling scots what to do``
With both referendums,Scottish and EU both groups who want the referendum are scared to proceed, not knowing the
answer they will receive.

i think flashman has got it right on this one, he is deliberately provoking the scots into having a referendum.
the more he talks down to them the more likely there will be a yes vote, very shrewd.

The shrewd way is to provoke `in private`

Have to watch this space...................
Cameron is sabre rattling.
Salmond knows a referendum will not be ``legally binding``but it would be ``politically binding``and will be impossible
for a government to resist.
Flashman/Freshman is playing `poker` with a canny scot....................no contest.

don't see a problem both salmond and flashman want a referendum for their own purposes, both want scotland out of the united kingdom for different reasons.

Cameron apparently stated he wants Scotland to remain in the Union, but, at least according to Sky News, he doesn't want Scotland to have any more devolved powers.
