    It's 20 years since Jean and I moved to Dover and opened our Guest House - the Linden in Folkestone Road.

    Seems a lifetime away - it is I guess for Jean. An awful lot of water has flowed under this particular bridge.

    We both had some great times here together, probably winning the Best Guest House in Kent award in 1996 was the high-light from our business point of view - the ceremony was held at Leeds Castle; Jean was very happy for me when I was elected a Councillor too, but we just enjoyed each other's company so much.

    It's doubly sad that I found out the other day that her Mum had died - in Majorca; she was almost 95 (would have been in December).

    Life goes on of course, just thought I'd share that with you.
