  post 10 you said about the big black spiders, they are the cardinal spider, the best way to keep them out, is to put a conker each side of the window sill, that stops them coming in, I was told this 3 years ago, and touch wood have not had one in the house since, as soon as the conker drops from the tree I collect some, and replace the old ones with the fresh ones each year
