14:4178616Well a special election court has found Andrew woolas guilty of making remarks against his lib dem canddate and the court ordered the election to be re run.
Having been involved in many elections in my 25 yearsin politcs im sure we can all identify personal leaflets far worse than the one A Woolas put out
(look at the dscraseful tory leaflet on g cowan for instance)
A Woolas will be appealing the press now saying the pending bye election the lib dems have lost some much credibilty since beng part of the cobbled together govt and are unlikely to repeat the gen electon result
opnion polls showing them well down

15:2278619Keith - Its Phil Woolas, not Andrew and he is a shadow minister appointed by Miliband in a colossal error of judgement.
I wont say more on this now because I have already written my blog on this subject and will not give it away. I will upload it this evening including a copy of the disgraceful leaflet.

15:5978629A key test in cases like this is whether the allegations are true or not. I don't know whether Mr Cowan made a song and dance about the Tory leaflet but if he didn't, there are surely inferences to be drawn.
Can someone tell me how I can arrange a roasting from Joanna Lumley? Or Felicity Kendal for that matter?

16:1278633yes gordon did complan
but the point is being missed here and yes barry once your blog is up on ths subject i will reply.
we need to look deeper and not just maket this another anti labour tribe stuff
i often open up on here and this im on the tory web site!!!
getting back to the leaflet if it was misleadng nearly every leaflet misleads that goes out from every party.
Roger(if hes honest enough to say so) wll recall the elms vale rec fiasco
there were many differing views on it
but once stated new equpment going into elms vale rec at the local electon the lb dem put out a leaflet stating thre lb dems had saved elms vale
this was from a candidate unklnown in the ward, not involved in the community
very strange leaflet
but was put out to give the impression the lib dems had saved the playground
when in fact the candidate never got hmself involved in the community.
I could go on

16:2178639the man is a cad and a bounder deserving of a good horse whipping.
the trouble is most propaganda that comes through the door have glaring inaccuracies, it is assumed that we are all too thick to know what is going on in the world.
if they just stuck to telling us what they had done and what they intended to do they would not end up lining the bottom of budgies cages.

20:0678705Funnily I chatted with him briefly a couple of weeks ago on the House of Commons Terr. where he was having a fag with Laura Sandys MP for Thanet South.
Also crossed swords with him over "The Calais Jungle" and other local Immigration issues whilst he held that Ministerial position. He knew his subject but turned nasty very quickly when cross questioned.

20:1078707shouting "allah akbur" at him might not have helped paul.
i find most politicos get defensive if they are not sure of their position, especially in a one to one situation.

13:0578762BarryW has reproduced one of the notorious leaflets used by Woolas and you can see it over on his blog right now Keef. Ive stuck my tuppenceworth in over there too. I think the courts had to be involved this time because of wild racial type allegations and murmurings and suggestions and innuendos.
However all mild by American standards but then we dont want to go that route.. after all ..we're British...fair play and all that !

13:2278764always unwise to play the race card at elections.
politicians seem to forget that ethnic minorities do not vote en masse, they have the same variation in opinions as everybody else.

you are being a bit unfair on the blues, i can remember when ted heath got together with arthur scargill and cut the working week to 3 days.
no other government has managed that since.
