You couldn't make it up.
We could probably see it from Dover, not that I would want to!

For some reason I can't add a link. It's a Kentonline feature about a large statue of Mrs Thatcher at the University of Kent.

Too obviously a student prank to be taken seriously, next we will have Labour supporting students proposing one for Scargill.

Not necessarily Howard, you'd be surprised at the demographic of the students there.
And surely any memorial to Scargill would go down rather than up

Mr Whysman I did that myself when a town cllr it was only in the local paper about two weeks ago it is not some nutter but me.Why did I do it.?Because it would bring 1000s of members of the public from all round the world to see it and that would bring in a lot of trade for our outlets we have Roman remains and history like no other town in the UK it is where the Romans came and build parts of our great castle.

It wasn't Mr Matcham or some nutter, it was Brian Philp and his team. Though I can't see tourists flocking to see a fibreglass statue instead of the real remains.

Perhaps that is what the queue at Calais is all about
The real remains Ray would be called a 'Bone Idol' I reckon after all these centuries. That figures....many would identify with that!

I was referring, as was Reginald, to the current plan in the link that apparently already has £20,000 funding, not to one from 2002.
