    Thanks Colette.

We walked across very slowly with Mum clutching the flowers and her bag in one hand and her walking stick in the other - I couldn't help she could manage!!

She had a very personal few minutes, while laying the flowers and cleaning Dad's memorial stone, no doubt recalling when they came out of the same church, St Mary's, 67 years before in thick snow and she had broken a heel on one of her shoes.

We then slowly walked to the main street and down to the Market Square - seeing and speaking to many people including Alison & Barry before she instited on us going into the Honey Pot in Church street for a coffee - that's a nice little cafe with an inexpensive menu and very polite people.

The whole trip took us 2 hours and, not going out much these days, Mum thoroughly enjoyed it although she was very breathless on getting home.

An interesting point is that Mum & Dad should have been married at Holy Trinity Church but enemy action demolished it just before so St Mary's was second choice in a way.
