Much more relaxing driving on the motorways at 60 than 90. When it's busy it doesn't take much longer to get there, you're not constantly standing on the brakes when some prat pulls out in front of you, and my car does 55mpg instead of 42. In 45 years of driving I have been stopped by police 3 times in the UK. 1972- rear light out on the M6 near Preston. 1994- stopped in Canterbury carrying son's motorcycle in my trailer at 5 am. Let me proceed after ascertaining car and bike both registered to same family at same address. 1996- on A1 near Grantham- I had plugged my trailer electrics in upside down so when the car signalled left the trailer flashed right! But in spite of having driven many thousands of miles abroad, I've never been stopped for a random check ever, anywhere in the world. So I must be lucky.
