The post you are reporting:
The clean-up went very well yesterday; despite the rain, we had I understand, around 30 people so managed to get both alleyways cleared of rubbish.
The veolia truck was late, but in the end we had two of them. All sorts of rubbish was removed, from mattresses, armchairs, a fridge I believe and much much more.
A big Thank-You to everyone who helped; the ones known, are Councillors Sue Jones, Pam Brivio and Roger something who now lives in Aycliffe, but represents Maxton, Elmsvale and Priory on the Town Council.
Thank you Howard for helping and Jenny Woodbridge the PF Secretary and her husband Mike.
Residents came out to help as we went along but many were there to start the clean-up.
Excellent to see many people wanting to clean the area and give their support, despite getting soaked a number of times - a BIG Thank You to them, .
DDC's Community Development officer Una Mills was also there and got stuck in.
A huge help was a local landlord who has properties in the Clarendons - Glenn Virtue; he has a little open truck that could get along there alleys where the bigger dustcarts couldn't and most of the stuff was carried by Glenn's little truck - he didn't mind getting his hands dirty too - thanks again to Glenn.
The Malvern Pub were great, Carol there provided some great food and drink - very much appreciated - Thank You Carol and Roger (yes, another one).
Some others I don't know the names of, but they were all special and their help was very much appreciated. If I've not mentioned anyone, I'm sorry - you were great.
Roger
