I would love to see much more of this in Dover...dining al fresco! yet you hardly ever see anyone doing it. At the moment we are enjoying a mini heatwave, ideal for pavement culture, but it doesnt take off here at all. Essentially the restaurants dont do it, unless you count the outdoor Wetherspoon area for desperate gaspers! lol!

Yet across the channel in dear ol France they' re all at it. Mostly munching and crunching away on moules marinaire. Calais is terrific for dining on the pavement..even a simple croc monseur and a muscadet can feel sublime sitting under yer sunlit umbrella out under the wide blue sky..watching all the other guys watching you back.

The picture was taken last week before we hit the dizzy heights of our current temperatures.
