  Josh, we've talked for years about ice skating and bowling for this town, but while our politicos talked, Canterbury's made it happen. That pattern repeats itself too often to be a coincidence.
  
  As for socialising and more and interesting things to do, I share your outlook and frequently trip to Canterbury a city with energy and get up and go. However, they could do with someone running their transport planning department because they haven't got a clue. Otherwise, a great place to mix with friends.
  
  And, if it helps, to me as an old grouse, Dover looks very rundown.
