I was trying to enjoy a lay in this morning , with no kids this weekend , but was rudely waken by the sound of two jet planes not once but twice , im guessing you all may have heard them .

Yes Mark I saw them too...after I heard the noise. They circled about over the harbour made a couple of passes and then climbed and went off eastwards. I grappled for the camera but couldnt get anything.
They probably were Harriers although do we have any of those left? After the recent Chinook visits we seem to be getting lots of military hardware in our airspace. It may have been NATO practising their bombing runs...lets hope they continue to hit those on the wrong side of the argument and not have a slip-up like yesterday. Dont want any slip-ups around here....

They went over Aycliffe at about 7:15 am. I think the noise seemed greater than usual because of the early hour. We quite often hear and see them racing along the channel but these two were flying north to south.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

Was that the helecopter yesterday paul ? , it set a few car alarms off on our street . Are they aloud to fly so low so early ?

Yes the chinook flew in very low and fairly fast right across the town yesterday. Must have shivered a few panes of glass. I saw it initially but lost sight of it as it went outside my field of vision but I caught it leaving across the harbour, there is a pic on the frontpage. Two chinooks came at once last week and there are other pictures further back on frontpage too...you certainly hear them coming..thunderous.
Not sure what they are doing hereabouts, the one yesterday must have landed nearby and then after just a few minutes took off again.
Theres probably no truth in the story that an alien spaceship crashed in the channel then , although i have heard stranger stories .
Wheres the white hugging coat kept?????
