    PAULB;
    I'm sure all those places probably wouldn't survive today.

    Funny realy, used to play in these two areas days on end.
    and at the linces(for some reason)

    but yes the shoemaker, sweet shop survived for years those guys probably long departed this world.

    As a kid we didnt have much dosh, and provided our own entertainment.

    ************ not to be viewed by persons easily offended or not like blood ****

    as a child i have 2 clear memories of hurt;

    1; I was running after my friend at the top end of Edred road, he cut through the hedge leading to the hill to South road, I chashed after him and on going through the hedge i walked into a wheelbarrow handle that dug a big hole around the side of my knee, blood poured out as iu ran back home with blood gushing, patched up i needed stictches, but out i went to play very soon after.

    2; living in later life on the folkestone road i was going out with one of my brothers to play footy at elms vale rec.
    he jumped on a bus, so i chashed but didnt make the bus.
    a car behind seeing my plight, asked to give me a lift(silly me) jumped in the car but it ran over my backof my heel, peeling the skin from my foot.
    i jumped out of the car, ran home, blood again everywhere.

    silly things you do as children,
    and sometimes they go badly wrong.
