Maybe its just me, I dont know. But far too many accidents happening in town and surrounding areas involving cars and other people. I went out with the car yesterday where a black octavia (got reg too) overtook me on the very small roundabout towards elms vale. Saying this, he came out of a side road (underdown road) just before the roundabout. You could tell by his behaviour I was "in the way" and then overtook me in the roundabout. Any pedestrians crossing at this time wouldnt stand a chance. It made me feel really upset and angry how this Person takes the right to drive like a brainless Wotsit. My Friend took the registration number and i wasnt sure If this would be a case for the police or not?
I have no idea how to go about this.
Dont they have any Police who deals with this kind of stuff? I know they cut them all down in all areas. But with so many accidents rising it is worrying too :(
Sorry to bore you all. But not every Motorist is a speeder or careless driver.

I'd call down to the Police station in Ladywell Heike; explain exactly what happened. They may not be able to prosecute, but they will be able to determine the owner's name and address and go and see him.

the elms vale roundabout is a nightmare for aggressive driving, the most common problem is when a bus stops near the tram shelter and cars overtake sometimes going the wrong side of the island.

Karen was hounded by some low lifes who tailgated her the whole length of Maison Dieu Road on Saturday whilst she had 3 grandchildren with her, she was quite shaken by the experience.
What I would have given to have been with her.

sorry to hear that ken, i have seen cars being raced along that road meaning that they are unable to stop at the pelican crossing outside the magistrate's court.

post 4 Howard he did overtake the wrong way, as there is no space in that roundabout to overtake a car. I was really cross. So unlike me too. But these accidents which happens alot lately arent normal either.
People dont seem to have patience anymore with anything
Makes me feel mad :(

two accidents on the london road within a couple of days suggests you may be right heike.
the pelican crossing just before to the elms vale roundabout is a classic case of it being optional to stop for a red light.

well i be happy with a traffic light rather that roundabout to be honest. Ok you have to wait and it is extra time etc etc. But it seems safer, unless Motorists jump red traffic lights. There should be a camera taking pic of the offenders car and get automatic fines. They to that in the north of england. Why not here?
Why not enroll it all over the country and not just one part of it. It seems to work too. Less accidents as well. Just a thought.

referring back to the pelican crossing there was a great example of jumping the lights at about 1 p.m. today.
i pressed the bjutton which automatically brings the amber light, i looked right and a car already going very fast accelerated through the red light doing about 60 mph.
the driver of registration no. m300 dru needs either a retest or lessons in being patient before he/she kills somebody.

Regards tailgating. What I do is just slow down.
The way I look at it is that if I have stop suddenly, if they do hit me then my car won't have too much damage.
On the M2 once I was tailgated by a lorry going through a 50 mph stretch due to road works. Driver in front braked suddenly due to missing his turning, I stopped without hitting him but unfortunately due the driver behind tailgating me rear ended me, writing my car off. Had fiancé and future mother in law in the car at the time. We all escaped unharmed but I'm now vary of being tailgated.

We were lucky it was in a area of road works as doesn't bear thinking of the consequences.
Initially I didn't want to turn around as mum in law was in the back. As I say thankfully we were all ok.
