Age uk christmas party

even more well attended than last year.
- 22 December 2011 17:08143729anyone who is anyone was there, our very own council chairman and forumite of long standing sue nicholas seen here chatting to the guests. that lady on the left of the picture looks familiar - might work in jan's shop.
then we had the mayor of dover mrs veronica(ronny) philpott accompanied by her minder christopher hobbs-east the town sergeant.
it has to be stressed that he protects the chain not the mayor.

dover's own barry goss sang and played his guitar to a selection of 60's hits.
forum member ken tranter helping out as usual, had to leave early to carry out an errand of mercy with his truck to paris.

Pam, the lady in black is the 'idiot'
who loves standing out the front of the shop on a Saturday. I have been told that another shop volunteer (standing, with the pink cardigan) will be 90 next year.-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

for those who had mobility problems, cheerful, helpful people were on hand to help.
- 22 December 2011 18:25143742Thank you Howard, there was in excess of 130 people attending and such is the speed that Howard was able to post to the Forum that those attending were able to view the many photos using the computer suite at the centre.
The highlight to me was the warmth shown to the Mayor and her nickname of 'Mayor Ronny, older people do like their mayor to be one of them. - 22 December 2011 18:32143745my pleasure ken i remember from last year that many of the guests there do look at the photos on the forum.

Its great to see everyone having a great time and tucking into that lovely spread of food. They do log on the Forum, I have been there many times with Briony ( visiting and doing some med work experience) and seen a few guests looking in. Hope they enjoy the photos
