    I'm keeping an ever-mindful eye open that we don't get dragged into the Syria war.
    All I know is that if we did, we'd be in for big-time trouble.

    As for Afghanistan, Western governments are hoping the Taliban will take part in negotiations.
    They are also hoping the Afghan army will be able to fight on its own.
    They are hoping the Public Opinion won't notice that the hearts and minds campaign failed.
    And the Government is reverting to the old tactic of nuclear submarines armed with nuclear missiles as Britain's assurance to a safe future....

    Hopefully the Afghan people won't misinterpret this as "Christianity" and "hearts and minds".
