i thought they would be in hibernation but just had a call from paul sampson to report that a dog has been bitten by one in clarendon/maxton field.
signs warning of this have been put on gates now but i would suggest that dog walkers keep their charges on leads in the meantime, which of course they should be anyway as konik ponies are grazing there.

I would have thought so as well maybe they were after the last bit of warmth from the sun, I hope the dog is ok.
