  The trouble is Howard, like most crimes these days we never effectively nip it in the bud do we?
  What does so called " law enforcement " actually do, basically not a lot, due no doubt to being hampered by PC and the " do gooder " types that carry much too sway as to how the low life deadbeats can be treated and sentenced.
  You hit the nail on the head when you said that this thug smiled and winked at his mates in court when taken away. And why not? The reason for that of course was that there was no fear in what he was about to face and that is why people of his ilk will carry on doing much the same.
  Put the b*****d in a secure room and do the same to him, might just concentrate others minds in the future on whether this is actually a virtually risk free thing to do.
  I'm certainly not advocating a sharia law type scenario, but have to admit that parts of it might not be all bad.......never ever thought I'd say that!
