I read about this on Facebook seems to be an elderly gentleman, I also read that he died but do not know how true that is, very tragic if true.

Yes it must be a serious incident with the road shut for so long.

too many careless drivers. Also I have noticed, alot of Drivers drive by red at the trafficlight!! Its not getting better or its just me and getting older?? But I find there is far more road deaths than in previous years....
Feel for the families in such hard time.

many motorists see the red light at the crossing the bottom of my road as optional.

its also the one by the trainstation. optional or not red is red and is telling you to stop. There is no option for that Howard. Otherwise they could get rid of all the traffic lights.... If you can see my point.

Believed to have happened between the old Esso garage and the Traffic lights so not sure if jumping the lights was the cause.I dont know, just what i was told from someone that lives close by.

I do not know anything about the accident but why do people start making accusations, assumptions etc You do not know if anyone was driving fast or if they jumped a red light so why say so? The driver may just be a victim as well and he or she has got to live with what has happened, shock is also a killer and if they were to read some of these comments it is hardly going to help.
People do have to cross the road at the Crabble Junction and it is a very difficult junction for pedestrians, as far as I know there are no pedestrian light buttons at the lights to give them crossing access.
I hope who ever was in the accident has not passed away but if they have and the driver was to blame then the law will take it course.
So spare a thought for all involved.
