    most road signals are international, alan is right to point out the very serious problems caused by hauliers who ignore them.

    the problem the police have is that they have to keep things moving, if they stop someone who does not speak english then it is easier to let things go.

    having said that i thought that new rules had come in that gave police powers to impound a vehicle.
