[U]FRANCE – STRIKE ACTION - UPDATE
Further to last week’s newsflashes advising of strike action by various unions over changes to pay schemes, this is the latest information we have.
Transport (haulage) unions start tonight, Monday 16th May at 22:00hrs, immediately after the driving restrictions have finished.
A General Strike has been called for the 17th May, which the hauliers strike will roll into. Unions involved are CGT, Fidl, FO, FSU, SUD, Solidaires & UNEF UNL.
Further action has been announced for the 18th May – by SNCF (French Rail union) and also another General strike for the 19th May.
Some unions have called for rolling stoppages starting tomorrow that could hit cross-Channel services, but at the moment P&O expects to be running normally.
